How much does wallpaper cost in Bangkok? An honest guide

wallpaper cost bangkok

Nobody in Bangkok likes publishing wallpaper prices, so we will. Real numbers per square metre, what installation costs, and what a typical condo feature wall actually comes to.

Ask what wallpaper costs in Bangkok and you'll usually get the same answer: "please contact us for a quote." It's a polite way of saying we'd rather not tell you until you're on the phone. We think that's a strange way to treat someone who's just trying to plan a room.

So here's the honest version — real wallpaper costs in Bangkok, from the entry-level end of the market to couture houses, with the installation numbers included. By the end of this guide you should be able to plan an actual project, not just collect brochures.

First, how wallpaper is actually priced

Two systems exist side by side in Thailand, and they confuse everyone.

Mass-market retailers price by the roll. A standard roll is 10.05 metres long and 52 centimetres wide — call it five square metres of coverage. In practice you get a little less, because patterned papers need extra for repeat matching (the repeat is the distance before a pattern starts again; the bigger it is, the more paper ends up on the cutting-room floor).

Designer and imported wallpaper — including everything we curate — is priced per square metre, measured to your actual wall. It's a fairer system: you pay for the wall you have, and the quote already accounts for the pattern's repeat.

What the wider Bangkok market charges

Let's start with the part nobody publishes. At the entry level, Thai retail chains sell rolls from roughly ฿250–500, and online marketplaces sell peel-and-stick for even less. Installation booked through gig platforms starts around ฿300 per point — the unit gig installers quote in, roughly one roll's worth of hanging. That tier serves a real need — a rental refresh, a quick fix before a lease ends — and there's no shame in it. It's simply a different product: thinner papers, limited pattern libraries, and installation quality that varies with whoever turns up.

What that end of the market can't offer is provenance, texture, colour depth — or one person who's accountable for the whole job. That's the gap we exist in.

What we charge, in full

Here are our actual price tiers, per square metre, supply only:

  • Premium range — ฿800–1,500/sqm. Quality imported papers from houses like Holden, Ohpopsi and Lentex: textures, plains and decorative prints. Our premium range is where most whole-home schemes and first feature walls land.
  • Luxury and heritage — ฿1,500–3,500/sqm. Premium imported designer wallpapers — heritage botanicals, textured grasscloths and statement damasks. For rooms where the wall is the point.
  • Signature houses — ฿3,500–8,000+/sqm. Versace Home sits here: baroque, Medusa motifs, gilded geometry. Couture for walls, priced like couture.
  • Bespoke murals — from ฿990/sqm. Printed to your exact wall dimensions, so there's almost no waste. Quoted to the wall, not the roll.

We publish these because we'd rather you arrive knowing the numbers than discover them mid-conversation. You can browse everything at our wallpaper collections with pricing attached.

What a real project comes to

Numbers per square metre are abstract until you put them on a wall. A typical Bangkok condo feature wall is around 10–12 sqm — the one behind the sofa or the bed, usually.

So, for a feature wall of around 10 sqm:

  • Premium range: roughly ฿8,000–15,000 for the paper.
  • Luxury designer wallpaper: roughly ฿15,000–35,000.
  • Versace Home: roughly ฿35,000–80,000 and up.
  • A bespoke mural: from around ฿9,900, printed to fit exactly.

Installation, delivery and any wall preparation come on top — which brings us to the part most quotes quietly blur together.

Installation, and why we itemise everything

Every White Rose quote lists the product, the delivery and the installation as separate lines. No bundling, no "package price" that hides where the money went. If you want to compare us with another quote, you can — line by line.

Within Bangkok and nearby provinces, installation is done by our own team, with a workmanship guarantee, and surface preparation — including stripping old wallpaper — is part of the service, not a surprise extra. Further afield, we send a self-install kit with a step-by-step video and remote support while you work.

A consultation is complimentary with any order. If you'd like visualisation work only — mock-ups of patterns on photos of your room — there's a small fee, which is credited back if you go ahead. Our white glove service covers the whole journey, from first photo to final seam.

What moves the price up or down

A few honest levers, so nothing in your quote is mysterious:

  1. Wall size. Obvious, but measure before you fall in love with a pattern.
  2. Pattern repeat. Large, dramatic repeats waste more paper in matching. Plains and textures waste almost none.
  3. Wall condition. Old wallpaper to strip, or a surface that needs skimming, adds prep time.
  4. Backing and finish. Non-woven backings and specialty finishes sit higher in each range — and handle Bangkok humidity better.
  5. Feature wall or whole room. One wall is the economical way to a big transformation; four walls of the same paper often cost less per metre than you'd guess, because there's less colour-matching across batches.
